Star Wars: Legion 2.0
For the second edition of Star Wars: Legion, I not only directed the card and cover art, I also planned the cover art and how that would be displayed across multiple products, as well as various marketing art pieces and convention displays. This gave me a unique opportunity to plan the full vision of the product line and how that would be seen on store shelves. I’m especially fond of the Core/Starter boxes in this edition, which allow for either a character focused display on the box edge, or allow for a head to head war scene between opposing factions within the same era.
Star Wars: Shatterpoint
From 2021 to 2025 I was the lead art director on the miniature skirmish game Star Wars: Shatterpoint. This was a super fun game line to be a part of, as it called for me to redefine the Star Wars universe in an anime and Saturday morning cartoon inspired aesthetic.
Star Wars: Legion 1.0
From 2018 to 2022, under both the Fantasy Flight Games and Atomic Mass Games studios, I art directed card and cover art for the miniatures war game Star Wars: Legion 1.0. Near the end of this edition, I was acting as lead AD for the game. I used this as an opportunity to focus the art on large scale ground war scenes, helping to define it as a brand distinct from other star wars game lines.
Descent: Legends of the Dark
From 2019-2020, I directed the character art assets for Descent: Legends of the Dark, and ended up concepting and illustrating the hero art for the game. I’m also very proud to have been involved in the design of the unique box for the game.
Keyforge
From 2017 to 2020, I directed card art for Keyforge at the Fantasy Flight Games studio. I’m still very fond of this game’s colorful aesthetic. It’s like directing candy.
Star Wars: Armada
From 2018-2023, under both the Fantasy Flight Games and Atomic Mass Games studios, I directed card, cover and token art for the large scale space battle miniature game, Star Wars: Armada. Additionally, I created the pantone vector paint diagrams so that our factory partners could create gorgeous pre-painted minis to the players.
Star Wars: X-wing (2.0)
From 2017-2023, under both the Fantasy Flight Games and Atomic Mass Games studios, I directed card, cover and token art for the space battle miniature game, Star Wars: X-Wing (2.0). Additionally, I created the pantone vector paint diagrams so that our factory partners could create gorgeous pre-painted minis to the players.
Legend of the Five Rings (LCG)
From 2018 to 2020 I directed several expansions of the living card game Legend of the Five Rings, under the Fantasy Flight Games studio. I really enjoyed the varied aesthetics of this game. While most of the game was in a more standard imaginative realism style, certain cards required a look inspired by Japanese woodblock print (Ukiyo-e).
Legend of the Five Rings = Role Playing Game
From 2018 to 2019, I was involved in the interior art direction of the RPG books for Fantasy Flight Game’s Legend of the Five Rings.
The painterly and ethereal aesthetic of the art in these books are still some of my favorites, and I hope I get to do a similar project in the future so I can reconnect with some of the artists.
Genesis RPG - Keyforge Secrets of the Crucible
I was honored to be the Art Director who was given the opportunity to define the Keyforge setting, a massive world known as the Crucible. This is still one of my favorite projects I did while at Fantasy Flight Games.
Star Wars - Role Playing Game
My first projects at Fantasy Flight Games were the RPG books Rise of the Separatists and Collapse of the Republic, both of which I directed interior art for. It was a fun opportunity to be involved as and Art Director in projects that I had done illustration for previously, and also fun to explore many art styles and new artists.
Arkham Horror Card Game
From 2017 to 2019 I directed card art for the Arkham Horror Card Game. This was one of my first projects as an art director with Fantasy Flight Games. I personally find the horror and darker themes to be fun. Not so for everyone, haha. Fun fact, newly done art used to be put up on monitors within the FFG studio, and the lobotomy needle seen here was one I chose on the week it was completed….It was quickly requested to be removed because it was too disturbing for some. Whoops!
